WorkingWith Sandycroft Projects Ltd

We’d love to work with you on your next project. Our estimating department combines the expertise of four quantity surveyors who will work with the rest of our team to provide quality, bona fide, competitive tenders together with supporting pre-qualification questionnaires where appropriate. Sandycroft work on projects in a range of values up-to £5 million.

Traditionally Tendered Projects and Design and Build

Traditionally tendered projects come in a variety of formats: Bill of quantities, schedule of works or plan and specification, Sandycroft would be delighted to tender for projects procured in these ways . Using this method of procurement gives the Client the benefit of knowing that the project has been opened up to competitive bids from a number of contractors, although it requires a long pre-tender period and producing detailed tender documentation can be both time consuming and costly.

Alternatively, we work on many projects on a design and build basis and our experience working closely with consultants makes novation straightforward and trouble free. Design and build can minimize risks for the project owner and aims to reduce the delivery schedule by overlapping the finer detailed design phase and construction phases of a project. Sandycroft work with a number of consultants locally in all aspects of construction.

Framework Agreements/Strategic Partnering

Sandycroft Projects work with several organisations and are key members of their supply chains. We believe that in many circumstances Framework Agreements put the Client in the driving seat giving them many benefits over other procurement routes including reduced costs, continuous performance improvements, better value for money and positive effects on the local community and supply chain.

Sandycroft would be happy to enter a framework agreement with all types of client and welcome the opportunity to discuss this further.

Negotiated Projects

Sandycroft Projects work with numerous Clients who have a long standing trust in Sandycroft’s team to deliver schemes on time, on budget and to the highest standards. Sandycroft are happy to work alongside the Client’s preferred design team or we can introduce you to some of our fellow professionals. One of the key aims of negotiation is to fast track the design and build process where possible. We can also assist with the affordability of schemes by producing feasibility studies for scheme options, budget estimates and cost engineering exercises to give you the most affordable solutions.

During negotiations, Sandycroft will produce costs that can be presented to the client/design team. Costs can be market tested in a number of ways to prove that they are competitive. We believe that placing your trust in Sandycroft will prove more advantageous to the Client than traditional tendering, particularly where fast completion can save/earn the Client money. Importantly by using Sandycroft you are placing your faith in a trustworthy company of long standing who will deliver the project to the highest standards.

Sandycroft Open Book Projects – Putting You in Control of Costs

An alternative to negotiated tendering is to work with Sandycroft Projects using our own open book method. We have delivered this on a number of contracts over recent years and it works well for all parties. Essentially we agree with the Client a set percentage for profit and overheads and deliver the schemes on an open book basis whereby all our costs incurred during construction are shared with the Client on a monthly basis. From the outset we will agree a target price for the project with our Client and this target will be adjusted on a monthly basis based on our ongoing and projected costs. This way the Client is not surprised by the ultimate final account and, if the project is running under the initial budget this frees up spend on work elements later in the project. For instance if the groundworks were completed well under budget this would allow the client to procure a superior kitchen than originally budgeted, whilst still remaining within overall budget.

We have found this route to be extremely fast as we can start works without full designs, firming up costs as and when details become available.

  • In my capacity as architect on a project in Birmingham, namely an extension to Al Furqan Primary School, it has been my pleasure to work with Sandycroft in delivering a fantastic scheme, on budget and on programme to the high standards expected. The project was delivered on time despite an extremely tight programme and everyone connected with the scheme was highly satisfied with the ultimate scheme delivery. The defect period on this project has just ended and Sandycroft have addressed the minimal defects listed.

  • Sandycroft were employed by UHBT under a design and build contract for the conversion of an existing industrial storage building to a satellite renal dialysis unit at Rabone Lane, Smethwick West Midlands which was completed in May of this year. From the outset, Sandycroft demonstrated a very professional and collaborative approach to the project and the process was managed very effectively both at design and construction phase.  The scheme was completed on time and within the agreed budget and moreover to the standards the trust expected.  The transition from the construction to the operational phase went very smoothly and Sandycroft have subsequently been very responsive in sorting out minor issues that have arisen since handover. In conclusion I would not hesitate to recommend this company for any future work.

  • I had the pleasure of visiting the clinic in Redditch yesterday, and just wanted to say thank you so much to all of you, and your team for an amazing job.  There aren't many times in life that I am speechless, but to see the clinic finished and patients being dialysed was just amazing.  The layout is great and all the details that you helped to plan, make life so much easier for staff and patients.  Thankyou so much Sandycroft for all of your hard work, enthusiasm and patience.

  • Sandycroft successfully completed two separately competitively tendered projects in a live hospital environment.  Phase 1 comprised the refurbishment of an existing ward, whilst phase 2 was a new build extension to ward 6.It was a testament of how well Sandycroft is managed off and on site, and completed the first phase in an often difficult live environment, that they were chosen to tender for the second phase and ultimately be awarded the project.I would therefore not hesitate to recommend Sandycroft on future projects.

  • Wyrley Juniors FC were looking for a partner that would recognise the needs of its members; identify suitable subcontractors that would be sympathetic to our requirements and work alongside the committee and professional advisors in bringing together a facility that would suit purpose.  From the outset Sandycroft were very much part of the team, providing guidance, suggestions and solutions at every turn.  Nothing was too much trouble for any member of the Sandycroft team and we are delighted with the end product, which not only achieved a 10 year dream, but exceeded it!The Club has nothing but praise for Sandycroft and would not hesitate in recommending them to others.

  • I am writing to provide a reference for Sandycroft who recently completed our extension as part of the Primary Capital Programme here at Summerbank Primary School.  We are thrilled with the extension which has been completed to a very high standard, along with excellent finished to the interior and playground.Communication between Sandycroft and the School was second to none.  All queries were dealt with swiftly, with the Contracts Manager and Quantity Surveyor going the extra mile, attending school promptly to deal with any matters arising.  All site meetings were well prepared for, and information received was clear and precise.I would have no hesitation in recommending Sandycroft to potential customers.

  • I am really pleased with the work that Sandycroft completed on this project and the work ethics that we exercised by all employed staff.  What struck me the most is the ability to turn round all problems to positive outcomes by sharing them with the project group, discussing them openly and coming up with creative solutions without increasing our costs or compromising quality of the end result.  My personal experience working with your company are very positive and I would recommend Sandycroft to anyone who is looking for a construction contractor.I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all staff at Sandycroft.  Well done guys, thank you ever so much for all your hard work and best of luck in the future.
